What to
Expect

Everything You Need Before You Arrive

Getting fingerprinted with DTIS is simpler than you might expect. Your appointment takes place at a convenient partner location, where a trained operator will guide you through the process and capture your fingerprints electronically using live scan technology. Your prints are then transmitted directly to the FBI for processing.

What to Bring

Please make sure you have the following before heading to your appointment:

  • Your Application Identifier (App ID), which can be found on your registration confirmation. Print your receipt if possible. If not, record this number carefully before your appointment
  • A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license, passport, military ID, or state-issued ID
  • A secondary ID showing your name and current address, such as a recent utility bill, bank statement, payment stub, or canceled check

If the name or address on any of your documents does not match your application, please bring supporting documentation such as divorce papers, a court-approved name change, or a USPS change of address card.
